Based on the view, I could easily be overlooking the sea and marina in Monaco, Bermuda, St. Thomas or a select number of exotic seaside destinations scattered around the globe, but I am on my terrance in suite 401 at El Ganzo, a true luxury enclave in Puerto Los Cabos.
Puerto Los Cabos is a self contained resort destination within the larger area known as Los Cabos. Located only twenty five minutes from the Los Cabos International Airport, this master planned development, with it own world class mega yacht marina, Jack Nicklaus and Greg Norman championship golf course, and ability to drop names like Ritz Carlton, Secrets, and JW Marriott, Puerto Los Cabos is the next “must visit” destination on Mexico’s Baja Sur Peninsula. And El Ganzo is at the center of it all.
El Ganzo (The Goose in Spanish) has all the necessary elements to make it “the place” to be on any given night. This one-of-a-kind 72-room luxury hotel lives up to the origin of its name “Gonzo”. As the urban dictionary might say, it is conspicuously unconventional. Or in the art community, it is often associated with free of form, where personality is paramount and a little exaggeration is accepted. It is hard to describe the barefoot elegance mixed with real-time activities. From the terrace off your room or your breakfast table you can watch the local fisherman netting live bait for the armanda of sport fishing boats that launch every morning at sunrise. Watch as multimillion dollar yachts and professional fishing cruisers float silently to and from the Puerto Los Cabos marina as they pursue whatever open water adventure awaits them.
Uniqueness and innovation are employed throughout the property. The dining experience is as varied and engaging as the other features of the hotel. Enjoy a casual breakfast on your terrace, a leisurely lunch on the “dock”, sushi from your pool lounge or a gourmet dinner indoors or overlooking the Sea of Cortes with live music playing comfortably in the background. Inviting, relaxing, delicious, and fun are a few words that describe the overall culinary attitude at El Ganzo.
With just 72 guest rooms and a keen eye toward style and aesthetics, Hotel El Ganzo is a refuge and a mind-opening departure from cookie-cutter hotels. The entire area is a combination of private beach club, hip lounge, sushi bar and relaxing conversational patio.
