During the opening ceremony where Nicklaus played the first hole, were representatives of the tourism sector, leaders of the state and other local personalities. In his speech, the principal investor and hotelier, Ernesto Coppel, said: “This project will not only offer golf lovers another great reason to visit Los Cabos, but also be of great benefit in terms of hotel occupancy for the entire destination”

Also present was Francisco Peña , Undersecretary of Tourism and representing President , Enrique Peña Nieto, who emphasized the 700 million pesos (nearly $5.5 million dollars) allocated through the federal agency FONDEN , will be applied for the rehabilitation of tourism infrastructure recovery and the overall image of Los Cabos. Additionally, they pointed to new efforts throughout 2015 to assist entrepreneurs, investors, the community, and local authorities in the promotion of this destination and all Baja California Sur.
