You can’t get much more isolated than if you buy your own village, which is precisely what Christie’s International Real Estate is offering. Sätra Brunn is around an hour-and-a-half drive from Stockholm and is a wellness destination in itself. First established in the 1700s, the village has over 70 structures including a hotel, spa and bath house, long- and short-term rentals, a day care facility and a church. The village proper encompasses almost 60 acres, and there’s an additional forested and undeveloped tract of 84 acres. The real star of the village is the restorative local spring waters. Samuel Skragge, a Swedish medical officer, first discovered the water source in 1700 and news of the water’s healing properties quickly spread. Skragge then built a well and well house, bathhouse, church and a hospital. Today, the village has a bottling operation in place to market the local spring water and is only one of seven springs awarded Sweden’s highest purity designation.
