The Restaurant
Casa de Chá da Boa Nova, in Leça da Palmeira, is chef Rui Paula's ambitious project, a culinary experience where the Atlantic waves almost crash onto your table. The building itself is a national monument, an architectural marvel designed by Álvaro Siza Vieira, seemingly growing out of the rocky coastline. Here, Paula presents a tasting menu inspired by Luís Vaz de Camàµes' epic poem, *The Lusiads*, with dishes that showcase the bounty of the sea. The restaurant earned its first Michelin star in 2016 and its second in 2019, and currently holds two Michelin stars. The cuisine emphasizes presentation, texture, and flavor, utilizing contemporary techniques to highlight the extraordinary seafood sourced directly from the Atlantic.
