Swiss luxury watchmaker Girard-Perregaux has announced its support of the Sixth Edition of the Steve Nash Foundation Showdown – the popular charity soccer match in New York City held by two-time NBA MVP Steve Nash.
The fast pace, competitive eight-a-side soccer match will feature NBA and professional soccer players alike, joining forces to support the Steve Nash Foundation’s work to benefit under-served children. Kick-off begins at 6:30 on June 26.
This sponsorship highlights Girard-Perregaux’s continued commitment to the world of sports and charity alike. Past honors to Steve Nash from Girard-Perregaux include a 1966 Full Calendar for his charitable work through the Steve Nash Foundation.
Following the soccer match at Sara D. Roosevelt Park on the Lower East Side of Manhattan, Girard-Perregaux will award the Most Valuable Player of the Game with a timepiece from the new Hawk Sports collection, the Girard-Perregaux Chrono Hawk. The Hawk collection has managed to establish its own identity while remaining true to Girard-Perregaux’s brand spirit.
The evening will continue with Nash, fellow players, friends and fans gathering for Showdown After Hours, a cocktail party and live auction fundraiser. 100 per cent of proceeds from the auction and ticket sales will benefit the Foundation’s work in early childhood education through Educare.
Showdown will also debut for the first time in Los Angeles, California on July 14. Tickets for these exclusive events, as well as VIP packages for the matches, can be purchased by donation at stevenash.org/Showdown.
