Spanish brand Lladró has created a body of work that celebrates 60 years of producing the world’s most widely recognized artistic porcelain.
Over the past six decades, the company has never stopped exploring, both artistically as well as in the technical processes of making porcelain. Its constant search for excellence has turned Lladró into a brand with its own identity and international prestige.
To celebrate this special anniversary, a selection of unique historical pieces from the Lladró Museum at The City of Porcelain in Valencia, Spain, will be on display for a limited time in three exclusive locations in the United States: New York, Los Angeles and South Florida.
This retrospective exhibit serves the purpose to take stock of the brand’s trajectory, in order to keep moving forward with the same passion that guided the Lladró brothers in 1953. The Commemorative Exhibition will take us all the way to modern-day designs and contemporary decorations in tune with the new times, but always with the unmistakable air of the original works.
Rosa Lladró, president, will tour the US in October for the opening of the three exhibitions and for special signing events focused on five new creations that pay tribute to this symbolic anniversary: Passion and Soul (60th Anniversary), Allegory to the Peace ((60th Anniversary), a limited edition of 600 units, Gathering Flowers (60th Anniversary), Heaven’s Harvest (60th Anniversary), and Skirt Full of Flowers (60th Anniversary).
Passion and Soul is a spectacular dancer in black and red finishes that recalls the origins of a masterpiece entirely handcrafted in Spain. This sculpture pays homage to the brand’s core themes and further demonstrates Lladró’s ability to re-invent itself.
In addition to this new creation, four of Lladró’s best-loved pieces have been dressed up for the occasion, including eternal Lladró sculptures that have won the hearts of thousands of people around the world and are now available with a new decoration.
This is a unique opportunity to learn about the legacy, tradition and the artistic roots behind the finest porcelain sculptures in the world, and celebrate the excellence of art made entirely in Spain.
