Luxury fashion house Ports 1961 has showcased its new Spring/Summer 2014 collection in an exclusive preview at ArtisTree in Hong Kong.
The Ports 1961 Spring / Summer 2014 ready-to-wear collection draws on inspiration from both the film and art industries to epitomize the stylish, independent men and women of today.
Designed by Fiona Cibani, the women’s collection for S/S 2014 is inspired by Michaelangelo Antonioni’s 1970 film ‘Zabriskie Point’.
Cibani draws on panoramic photographic vistas of desert, sun and sky to express the free spirit of adventure with this startling new collection.
Fluid desert landscapes are echoed in soft voluminous overcoats and dresses, while hypnotic sunset
striations inspire ‘lighter than air’ layering and colors.
Meanwhile Ports 1961 S/S 2014 men’s collection, designed by Cibani alongside Ian Hylton, is inspired by the sculptural artworks of Rainer Lagemann, which capture the human body in motion.
A geometric freeze frame of classic, timeless gestures and emotions are conveyed through silhouettes, materials and details.
Fiona Cibani and Ian Hylton’s collection expresses their vision of Ports 1961 man: a modern man with timeless values.
