Luggage manufacturer RIMOWA used Brazil as the backdrop for its 2014/2015 catalogue photos, all of which showcase its suitcases to perfection.
The new catalogue highlights the full range of impressive locations, all of which have their very own story to tell.
Whether at the Port of Manaus, Rio de Janeiro Airport or Copacabana Beach, the images reflect the cultural diversity and joie de vivre of the South American country.
The personal travel accounts and secret tips provided by RIMOWA CEO and president Dieter Morszeck reveal that this catalogue is so much more than just a presentation of the new products.
He provides detailed background information for each of the stops. “I’m a traveller. And I’d like to share my impressions, experiences and memories with you – and in this way sincerely recommend Brazil as a destination,” explains Morszeck.
The new RIMOWA film is just as exciting and colorful as the country itself and will soon be available for viewing at www.rimowa.de.

BOSSA NOVA
Due to a deep affinity with Brazil, RIMOWA is expanding its range to include a brand-new series, the proceeds of which will in part be donated to a good cause.
Made from polycarbonate, the BOSSA NOVA features the Multiwheel® system for optimum manoeuvrability and is sure to impress with its rich Jet Green colour.
There will be two variants available: one with stylish, contrasting components and another in the same green as that of the suitcase shell. From the beauty case to the large Multiwheel® with a volume of 104 liters, all of the suitcase sizes are represented.
BOLERO
Due to high demand, the popular BOLERO series will again be included in the range and boasts superior materials as well as a practical front pocket for important travel documents or your favorite magazine. Made from polycarbonate, this suitcase features a polyjacquard lining and always provides convenient access to important papers without having to be opened. The BOLERO is available in Matt Black, as a notebook and up to size 56.
New colours
In addition to the two new collections, the existing luggage series boasts new colour highlights: the Classic Silver and Prosecco of the SALSA classic polycarbonate suitcase have now been replaced by Matt Bronze and vibrant Matt Blue. In place of the former Seal Grey of the SALSA DELUXE series, there are now new highlights in shimmering Granite Brown and dark Yachting Blue.
The lightweight SALSA AIR suitcases again flaunt their variety of color and introduce a trendy Lime Green, which has replaced the Inca Gold and rounds off the range to perfection. The LIMBO series not only combines a robust aluminium frame with polycarbonate suitcase shells, but now also makes a statement in Black, Night Blue and stylish Carmona Red.
New sizes
In response to Lufthansa’s new guidelines, which permit a total length (width + height + depth) of 118cm for hand luggage, RIMOWA is introducing a new hand luggage size in its Aluminium range. The former size with combined dimensions of 115cm will continue to be accepted as hand luggage.
The SALSA DELUXE HYBRID and the two new series, BOSSA NOVA and BOLERO, also include the somewhat larger variant measuring 126 cm, which complements the ranges perfectly.
Following the success of the SALSA Sport, this spacious suitcase was also developed for fans of aluminium luggage: the new TOPAS Sport offers plenty of space for bulky equipment. A few functional parts were optimised for all the series, including the practical, infinitely adjustable telescopic handle and the new wheel housing with suspension.
Bag2go
Another RIMOWA highlight is the brand-new Bag2go, which will make its public debut at CeBIT in Hanover. Thanks to the collaboration between RIMOWA, T-Systems and Airbus, luggage that can travel alone and reliably reach its destination has become a reality.
Using a radio and software module, passengers can locate their suitcases, which are fitted with a display, anywhere round the world. The suitcase that doesn’t get lost will probably be available at the end of 2014.
