Celebrated shoe designer Stuart Weitzman has teamed up with online luxury shopping mecca Gilt to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the brand’s best-selling 5050 boot.
Launched on Thursday, October 17, the site will host a digital pop-up shop offering an exclusive 20-piece Anniversary Collection, including 10 limited edition styles, for the next 20 days.
In addition to signature 5050 styles in black nappa and patent leather, the capsule collection also includes slinky snake embossed leather, printed hair calf, and rocker-chic, heavily studded suede, all ranging in price from $598 to $890. For divas only, the Swarovski-set Safari 5050 boot features more than 25,000 hand-set crystals for a serious dose of bling, and retails for $10,000.
A private event was held at New York nightspot Neuehouse on October 16 to fete the pop-up’s debut. Several of the city’s most notable fashionistas turned up to toast the collaboration, including socialite and street style icon Olivia Palermo, supermodel Miranda Kerr and Bravo TV’s Top Chef host Padma Lakshmi – all wearing iterations of the 5050 boot, of course.
