Watchmaker and jeweler de Grisogono has taken its new inventive and fun ladies’ watch, the Tondo, and elevated it into the realm of both haute horlogerie and haute joaillerie with the Tondo Tourbillon Gioiello.
The first piece of a planned trilogy of products in white, brown and black diamond iterations, the watch touts 8.57 carats of white diamonds, including 33 large stones lining the bezel, which act as a perfectly stylish counterpoint to the cutting-edge technical élan of the offset tourbillon at 8 o’clock. An unusual, oversized white gold case showcases the à quatre grains-set diamonds (meaning the setting is concealed underneath the stones themselves), and the exacting movement, the first manual-wind tourbillon used by the company, carries the important Côte de Genève markings (price available upon request).
