Roland Iten Mechanical Luxury has established its first dedicated manufacturing facility in the beautiful village of Vaumarcus, Canton Neuchatel, Switzerland.
The new facility is located in the grounds of the historic Chateau de Vaumarcus.Nestled at the foot of the Jura Mountains, surrounded by vineyards and overlooking the magnificent Lake Neuchatel, the Chateau is still only an hour from Geneva airport.
“As a designer I feel strongly that a place of work should not only perform a function but should also nurture and stimulate the creative process,” said founder and CEO Roland Iten. “The calm and beauty of our new surroundings will help to build on the current success of the business and our new capabilites will move the company forward in exciting directions.”
Iten added that traditional watchmaking equipment has been invested in for the manufacturing facility, including a CNC machine and two fully equipped assembly and finishing stations.
“Also we have embraced emerging technologies with the installation of a 3D printing machine,” continued Iten. “This will allow me to realise my designs so much more quickly and more cost-effectively than ever before. To be able to go from idea, to conception, to prototyping in just a few days opens exciting possibilities and interesting challenges.”
Roland Iten is planning a number of new products for Q4 2013 and throughout 2014. These will be finished and assembled in Vaumarcus by a dedicated team headed by recently appointed director of manufacturing Pascal Blanc.
