To celebrate the opening of its first Australian flagship store, TW Steel has held an exclusive showing of the hand-built CEO Tech World Centennial watch at their Strand Arcade boutique.
The timepiece, which is valued at $100,000, impressed guests with its 484 diamonds totaling 7.08 carats.
The CEO Tech World Centennial timepiece was created to celebrate TW Steel’s availability in 100 countries worldwide and won ‘People’s Choice’ at the Las Vegas Couture Time Awards earlier this year. The event was the first time the watch has been on display outside of the exhibition.
Along with TW Steel CEO and co-owner Jordy Cobelens, guests of the night included TW Steel ambassador, Five Time MotoGP World Champion Mick Doohan, Bikie Wars: Brothers In Arms star Luke Hemsworth, The Pacific and Underbelly favourite Les Hill, television and radio personality Scott Tweedie, singing sensation Paulini, former IBF Featherweight Champion Billy Dib and up-and-coming actor Mia Morrisey.
CEO Jordy Cobelens officially opened the store and said it was a huge step in the right direction for both Australia and the brand.
“The boutique truly delivers the world of TW Steel to the consumer and allows us to showcase our full collection. It’s great to see that Australians aren’t afraid to be bold and make a statement by wearing a large timepiece,” he said.
Mick Doohan told the crowd of his continued satisfaction in working with the oversized watch brand during his welcome address. “Year on year it’s a pleasure to work with TW Steel and seeing the success of my watch globally is thrilling,” he said.
Attendees were each gifted a TW Steel watch on entrance to the event, a gesture which was noted by many on social media.
Award-winning Italian Restaurant Pendelino served guests canapés of Tuna Bruschettina, Roasted Veal Boccacci and Saniovese Beef Tartlets while they sipped on signature cocktails courtesy of The Whisky Ambassador and beer and wine from Sydney Brewery and Tyrrells respectively.
