BUBEN & ZŌRWEG, the leading designer and manufacturer of precise watch winders and objects for connoisseurs of fine timepieces, have unveiled an array of new creations for 2014. Innovations range from a newly developed movement, to wall clocks and table clocks, and for the first time ever a floor clock has been added to the BUBEN & ZŌRWEG collection.
The Caliber “Alpha 01 – Pendulum World Time” is a newly introduced proprietary manufacture movement consisting of Graham escapement and carbon fiber pendulum rod. Three BUBEN & ZŌRWEG novelties are presented using the new movement. Limited edition of only 75 examples, GRANDE INFINITY features a BUBEN & ZŌRWEG pendulum clock equipped with the “”Alpha 01 – Pendulum World Time movement with a 31-day power reserve. The interior is designed with Makassar wood-aluminium, housing 10 layers of high gloss piano stardust lacquer lit by an LED system with fading functions. The Fine Timepiece is framed by TIME MOVER® modules that hold a collection of 20 watches behind its remote-controlled “Magic Swing & Hide Mechanism.” Additional watches are stored in a certified security VdS Class I safe made from hand stitched Italian Nappa leather.
The first ever floor clock from BUBEN & ZŌRWEG incorporates the “Alpha 01 – Pendulum World Time” movement with a 31-day power reserve in a brightly lit LED tower behind crystal glass. Precise timing is produced by the seconds pendulum and a world time indication. Key designs of the INFINITY include: carbon fibre pendulum rod with extremely low heat expansion coefficient; housing 10 layers of high gloss piano stardust lacquer and Makassar inlays; and dead- beat Graham escapement with pallets made of hardened steel and wheels fine- polished and plated with gold. A drawer for accessories and storage compartment are conveniently located underneath the ball-bearing deflection roller.
SILHOUETTE is a new wall clock with similar features to the INFINITY. SILHOUETTE uses the “Alpha 01 – Pendulum World Time” movement with a 31- day power reserve in an LED lit tower behind a crystal glass. Key features of the SILHOUETTE include: carbon fibre pendulum rod with extremely low heat expansion coefficient; housing with 10 layers of high gloss piano stardust lacquer and Makassar inlays; and dead-beat Graham escapement with pallets made of hardened steel and wheels fine-polished and plated with gold. The clock also features a seconds pendulum and world time indication.
Table clocks are a tradition at BUBEN & ZŌRWEG and ALLURE is the latest addition to the collection. Behind a crystal glass lit by LED technology, the dial softly shimmers due to a special manufacturing process developed by BUBEN & ZŌRWEG. The clock is powered by an 8-day precision movement of German manufacture. Versions with a TIME MOVER® or weather station are available.
