Parmigiani Fleurier has added a new range of chevron braided straps to its collection of women’s stone-set Tonda 1950 models with Mother of Pearl dial.
This touch of leather work brings the piece to life, embodying the marriage of authentic, timeless Haute Horlogerie with the elegant world of fashion, which flourishes and evolves on the ever-changing tide of trends.
The chevron strap, which is entirely hand-made, consists of a leather base with precise openings, and overlaid strips braided to form a chevron pattern. This double layering allows leather strips of two different colours to be interwoven to create a harmonious braid. The mother of pearl dial on the women’s Tonda 1950 lends itself beautifully to this colourful interplay, producing a host of nuanced effects as it reflects the light.
In one incarnation, the enchanting darkness of Tahitian mother of pearl is set against an aubergine-coloured strap with a braided chevron pattern in muted bronze tones – the brand’s iconic colour. White Mother of Pearl, with its soft, iridescent reflections, is matched with a strap in purple tones with a fuchsia pink pattern. The fresh, summery tones of these chevron straps, which are available in a wide range of other colours, add a new dimension to the women’s Tonda 1950 mother of pearl collection, enabling wearers to accessorise their timepieces to suit their mood and the season.
