TW Steel Announces Partnership with VR|46 Brand Launches Two New Watch Collections

By Zahra Al-Kateb

TW Steel is delighted to announce a brand new partnership with VR|46, the lifestyle brand created by MotoGPT legend and current Movistar Yamaha MotoGP rider Valentino Rossi.

Friday’s announcement, timed to coincide with the ‘Grand Prix of Misano’, hosted at the Marco Simoncelli Misano Circuit, showcased the first fruits of the relationship between TW Steel and VR|46 – with the unveiling of two distinctive watch collections soon to be available to fans and watch lovers alike.

The official TW Steel VR|46 / Yamaha Factory Racing watch collection starts with three desirable new models, available in November, including two Pilot editions TW935 (45mm) & TW936 (48mm), priced at $529 and $559 respectively, and a Tech edition, TW937 (48mm), priced at $799.

The dedicated fan base enjoyed by VR|46 will also be spoilt for choice courtesy of the new $99 VR|46 / Yamaha Factory Racing ‘By TW Steel’ range.  The stunning six-piece collection (VR1 – VR6), available in October and presented in 40mm and 45mm sizes, is exceptionally priced considering features of the models include genuine carbon cases, reinforced mineral crystal and a water resistance to 10 ATM.

“Naturally we’re thrilled to partner with the VR|46 brand and start a very progressive relationship,” stated TW Steel CEO and co-owner, Jordy Cobelens.  “The VR|46 brand is a further extension of Valentino Rossi’s values and his lifestyle choices.  Having been exposed to that directly via our partnership with Movistar Yamaha MotoGP, we knew we wanted to work directly with VR|46 through the production of these new watch collections.

“There’s truly going to be something for everyone.  The TW Steel VR|46 / Yamaha Factory Racing collection appeals to the consumer looking for a high-end and distinctive timepiece, based on our DNA of offering affordable luxury.  In the Tech and Pilot editions we know we have strong models to partner with the VR|46 brand.  At the same time, our new $99 VR|46 / Yamaha Factory Racing ‘By TW Steel’ models offer amazing quality and performance at a very fan-friendly price point.  With eye-catching straps available in colors we know that will appeal to fans, we know we’ve created another bold way for fans to show support for VR|46.”

The new TW Steel VR|46 / Yamaha Factory Racing Pilot models are presented in a bold steel case with a PVD dark titanium coating.  Each bezel enjoys a PVD dark titanium shine finish while inside both house a Miyota 6S20 big caliber movement with black date disk.

The VR|46 touches come with blue accents on the dial and yellow 46 in the second eye of the chrono.  A dark grey silicon strap with raised VR|46 logo in black completes the look along with both the VR|46 and Yamaha Factory Racing logo on the case back. Both are 5 ATM water resistant.

The new Tech model features similar VR|46 design accents but starts with a steel case with a sandblasted PVD black coating.  Further enhancements include steel pillars on the case side with yellow accents – designed to resemble shock absorbers, and a carbon fibre design black dial with raised steel indexes.

Also using the powerful Miyota 6S20 movement, the Tech edition sports a black silicon strap with dark grey line and a sandblasted PVD black coated clasp.  It is 10 ATM water resistant.

Using top quality materials and built to perform, each design of the six-strong VR|46 / Yamaha Factory Racing ‘By TW Steel’ collection is founded around a genuine carbon case.

The new watches also incorporate an appealing carbon fibre design dial proudly featuring the VR|46 logo.  A steel case back also features the logo while a gun plated, steel crown further enhances the more expensive look of each model, as does the use of reinforced mineral crystal.

Each piece houses a powerful Miyota 3-hand movement with the dial encompassing a 24-hour indicator and date display.  Additional highlights are the colour presentations of the silicon straps – including yellow, white, blue and black editions, while two additional models feature NATO canvas straps for added variety.
