Sitting on the outskirts of Zurich and one of Switzerland’s most storied hotels, The Dolder really is special. Minutes from the city, its elevated setting on a forested hillside and Alpine views give it a resort-like feel (as does its colossal spa with top-tier facilities). Featuring works by the likes of Dalí, its art collection is of museum quality. Eclectic and surprising, the two-bedroom, two-story Maestro Suite was inspired by the conductor Herbert von Karajan; it extends from a central, lighthouse-style tower with showstopper views and packs in plenty of features over its generous 4,300 sq ft. An on-site kitchen means catering for dinner parties is easy; a homey library is a beautiful spot for remote working; and if it’s a bit chilly out on the handsome timber-framed terrace, a quick turn in the sauna will leave you nice and toasty.
