The Suite
L'Appartement Prince Bonaparte, located on the second floor, was once the private residence of Prince Roland Bonaparte and holds Monument Historique status. A striking example of the Directoire style, this one-bedroom suite features five-meter-high ceilings with original crown moldings and gilt detailing, Versailles-style parquet floors, and period artwork. The suite's balconies offer charming views of Avenue d’Iéna and the Guimet Museum, while the spacious living room and separate dining area comfortably seat up to eight guests. The intricately designed bedroom reflects its former resident’s royal pedigree, with shades of blue and gold, a crystal chandelier at its center, a draped fabric headboard, and velvet curtains framing floor-to-ceiling windows, tied back with handmade tassels.
The Hotel
Originally the home of Prince Roland Bonaparte, the Shangri-La Hotel, Paris, is a palatial retreat blending regal history with Asian hospitality. Its prime location in the 16th arrondissement, overlooking the Seine, means that guests can enjoy some of the city’s best views of the River Seine and Eiffel Tower from the comfort of their gorgeously designed rooms. Interiors showcase ornate moldings, silk wall coverings and marble-clad bathrooms, reflecting the grandeur of its 19th-century heritage. Dining includes the Michelin-starred Shang Palace, serving authentic Cantonese cuisine, and La Bauhinia, where French-Asian fusion dishes are presented in a stunning glass-domed setting.
