One of the final projects by acclaimed late architect and pioneer of ‘organic’ design, Peter Muller, the resort is the younger sibling of the neighboring Muller-designed Oberoi Bali—the 1977 groundbreaking property credited as Bali’s first luxury resort, which would go on to define the Balinese five-star aesthetic. Muller’s signature pioneering style, which weaves traditional indigenous elements into smart design, is evident in every corner of The Oberoi Beach Resort, Lombok. Thatched-roof villas, local textiles, and Balinese treatments in the open-air spa meld seamlessly with fine dining, a PADI dive center, an endless palm-fringed infinity pool, and attentive service.

Just off the private beach, set among stone pathways lined with tropical flowers, are the resort’s 38 pavilion suites and 12 standalone villas. Design inspiration is drawn from traditional Indonesian homes, with lava stone walls, rich teak floors, and vaulted ceilings.

Behind a towering entranceway, the Luxury Ocean View Two-Bedroom Villa with Private Pool offers plenty of space to unwind with family or friends, spanning over 4,000 sq. ft. Local artworks, hand-carved detailing, and natural fabrics add to the sense of place, while cathedral-like thatched palm roofs house two-bedroom suites. 

These suites are divided by a sprawling courtyard, with each bedroom spanning nearly 1,000 sq ft. Both feature king-size four-poster beds, large marble ensuites with expansive walk-in showers and substantial sunken tubs, and ocean-view balconies perfect for catching the island’s golden sunsets.
