The Suite
The Extreme WOW Suite takes its design cues from an unlikely source: the HMAS Onslow submarine. The dark, atmospheric hues throughout the space directly reference the retired warship, which famously logged 358,068 nautical miles during its operational history. While the design nods to the deep sea, the experience is strictly 27th-floor luxury—a significant upgrade from the submarine's living quarters.
This is a suite built for socializing and serious comfort. Guests can easily set the mood across five independent zones for music streaming, all managed via a dedicated tablet. Stocking the bar is equally simple, with a comprehensive list of premium wines and spirits available on demand. Far above the water, the suite's elevated position ensures clear, uninterrupted views over Darling Harbour. The best vantage points for taking in the cityscape are either the unique crescent-shaped bedroom or, perhaps more relaxing, the deep, circular bathtub.
The Hotel
Rising over Darling Harbour in a mesmerizing curved structure, W Sydney only opened in October 2023 but is already one of the city’s landmark hospitality institutions. Located within the city’s The Ribbon, W Sydney, by W Hotels, brings modern luxury and vivid energy to the harbor, with acclaimed Australian architectural firm Hassell behind the hotel design. The hotel’s interiors have been designed by London-based brand Bowler James Brindley, who sought inspiration for W Sydney’s ambience and aesthetic through exploring the history, culture and spirit of the city.
