The Suite
This three-bedroom Balinese retreat sits above the Ayung River, overlooking the forested highlands and cascading rice terraces. Access requires a trip across the resort's dramatic rooftop, where the tropical foliage begins. Art aficionados should note the suite features a rare collection of Indonesian masterpieces displayed throughout. It is designed to comfortably accommodate up to nine guests.
The design emphasizes connection to the environment: the open-sided living and dining pavilion welcomes the natural sounds of the jungle directly inside. Upstairs, a breezy lounge designed for quiet reflection separates the two main bedrooms. Outside, the infinity pool is the centerpiece, appearing to merge seamlessly into the valley below. It is bordered by twin timber sun decks and a thatched 'alang-alang' pool pavilion, which includes a dedicated alfresco dining space. The immersion in nature is complete, right down to the outdoor rain showers tucked beneath the canopy.
The Hotel
Floating walkways and a rooftop lotus pond introduce a resort designed in harmony with the Ayung River valley. Villas and suites are shaped by nature, featuring curved lines, timber accents, and indoor-outdoor layouts. Riverfront yoga, forest walks, and meditative rituals connect guests to the environment, while bespoke spa treatments utilize native botanicals. A suspension bridge leads to elevated dining spaces and an expansive infinity pool hidden among the trees. Four Seasons at Sayan offers calm through design and encourages deep presence in the island’s lush interior.
