Some of the world’s best suites have every conceivable amenity. The Sky Pods from White Desert definitely do not follow suit. Instead, you’ll find a futuristic abode (the pods are inspired by space exploration, which makes sense considering the out-of-this-world location) surrounded by the barren landscape of Antarctica. The six heated pods form an eco-camp called Echo and, like all of White Desert’s campsites, it leaves no trace on the environment. They are made from composite fiberglass and have floor-to-ceiling windows so you can take in the vast, icy plains. Each stand-alone pod can sleep two guests; there are four other linked pods that provide communal spaces (a lounge area and dining room). Every trip is bespoke but you can expect such delights as rappelling down frozen cliffs or heading to the South Pole.
