New Delhi, India – Reported by Elite Traveler, the Private Jet Lifestyle Magazine
On April 12, The Oberoi Group announced the opening of its latest property, an opulent city hotel in Gurgaon, located in New Delhi’s National Capital Region. At The Oberoi, Gurgaon, guests are liable to forget they’re in a city, given the resort’s nine acres of lush landscaping and soothing water features. Combine gorgeous grounds with signature Oberoi personalized service, plus the ultimate in modern amenities, and you’ve got the perfect base for both business and leisure travelers.
“A number of Oberoi hotels have been consistently recognized as the best in the world. I am confident that The Oberoi, Gurgaon will continue this tradition” said Mr. P.R.S. Oberoi, Chairman, The Oberoi Group. Speaking on the hotel’s unique design philosophy, Mr. P.R.S. Oberoi added, “The Oberoi, Gurgaon redefines the city hotel experience with a design philosophy of height, light and space.”
Mr. Kapil Chopra, Senior Vice President, Oberoi Hotels & Resorts added, “with the opening of The Oberoi, Gurgaon we want to offer discerning business and leisure travelers an oasis of tranquility with service which is warm, caring and personalized.”
Just 15 minutes from Delhi’s international airport, The Oberoi, Gurgaon boasts sprawling grounds dotted with tranquil reflection pools and landscaped gardens. In keeping with the group’s pioneering tradition, the hotel offers many firsts, including India’s first luxurious suites with private heated pools, the city’s first 24-hour spa and cigar lounge and the most spacious accommodation in any city hotel. Of course, the hotel doesn’t skimp on service either, offering 24-hour butler service, Rolls Royce and BMW 7 series limousines and Clefs d’Or concierge service.
The architecture of this urban oasis inspires: Drive up the winding forest driveway to reveal the sanctuary, a vertical 10,000-square-foot garden wall merging with the lake below. The design centers upon a ‘Jewel Box,’ a minimalist edifice in glass and shining stainless steel that houses the lobby on the fifth floor and the dining and meeting facilities. This overlooks an expansive 36,000-square-foot reflecting pool.
Designed by international interior design firm LTW Designworks and The Oberoi Group’s own project and design team, the 202 guest rooms and suites start at an expansive 620 square feet. Rooms are adorned with mother of pearl inlay work, and include floor-to-ceiling windows throughout, walk-in closets and large marble bathrooms with freestanding bathtubs and separate rain showers. The property’s 15 suites range in size from 1,240 to 5,300 square feet. The Presidential Suite features a 22-meter cantilevered private outdoor heated pool with a deck, and the two Premier Suites feature 17-meter private pools with decks also suspended in air.
Dining-wise, threesixtyoneº touts live show kitchens offering the finest Japanese, Chinese, Italian and Indian cuisine. Enjoy your meal al fresco on teak wood floors. If you’re after Indian seafood specialties, opt for Amaranta, which serves the catch-of-the-day from the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal.
Extensive meeting and conference facilities can accommodate up to 1,000 people, and recreational options include an Olympic-sized outdoor heated swimming pool, a separate swimming pool for children, the city’s first 24-hour spa and a fitness center.
