PICCHIOTTI, one of Italy’s premier jewellery designers, was honored the 1st “Platinum Guild International Best of Show Design Award” at Baselworld 2009. A master at working with the best diamonds and coloured gemstones, PICCHIOTTI was awarded in the bridal category for his stunning “Unique Diamond Ring”, a peculiar platinum ring featuring a rare combination of brown and yellow diamonds, as well as a fine white pear-shape diamond. It is a showcase for different variations of precious diamonds, exquisite and unique solitaires as rare and eternal as the Platinum that holds them.
Sponsored by the Platinum Guild International, a worldwide organization dedicated to promoting and increasing the desire for platinum jewellery both with the trade market and the final consumers, the Best of Show Design Award is a contest taking place during the course of Baselworld, the most prominent fine luxury jewellery & timepiece trade event in the world that just closed its 2009 edition on April 2nd. It was created to showcase the individual talents of platinum jewellery designers in three categories: Bridal, Men’s and Nature. The entries are displayed in the showcase located at the exhibitor’s booth, and during the show accredited journalists may view and vote the entries.
