Marni is pleased to announce the opening of its first flagship store in Barcelona . The boutique is set in a lovely listed building in Calle de Josep Bertrand 3.
The concept of the 320 square meter boutique takes inspiration from the traditional Spanish floor tiles, playing with their geometry, and expanding it into a larger design across the concrete floor Laid out over two levels, the shop has distinct zones.
The geometric severity is broken by MARNI signature undulating stainless steel display rails and trees, which hold the collection and represent the focus of the boutique’s lower front level. Here sunglasses, bags, shoes and jewellery are displayed in backlit fibreglass boxes accommodated in the surrounding walls.
The rear elevated section, plushly carpeted, is devoted to Marni’s evening collections and accessories. Suspended mannequins, which appear unsupported, but moved by bespoke fan units, float to boost the view of the collection. Differently sized inset leather covered cases display the lingerie collection.
The 41 square meters boutique in Callejón de Jorge Juan 14 Bis in Madrid offers Marni’s clientèle an exceptionally well-stocked shopping environment continuing the new design concept for MARNI accessories boutiques. Perspective enhanced lacquered walls and ceiling accommodate an array of differently sized fiberglass display cases with back lighting. These cases are individually designed to accommodate sunglasses, bags, shoes and jewellery.
Consuelo Castiglioni has worked closely with architecture firm Sybarite to create a smooth out-of-the-ordinary shopping ambience which provides unexpected and captivating ways of displaying Marni’s quirky accessories collection.
