Don’t miss out on Moscow’s wealth of attractions and adventures
GUM
One of the largest department stores in the world, GUM is as much an architectural marvel as a shopping center.
The name derives from an abbreviation of the Russian for Main Universal Store, and GUM was once home to 1,200 shops, before it became nationalized after the 1917 revolution. Used as the headquarters for Stalin’s Five Year Plan, the store was privatized after the fall of the Soviet Union and now features a large number of international brand outlets. But the pleasure in shopping in GUM comes from the grandeur of the building itself; its façade along Red Square is an impressive 794 feet and boasts a glass ceiling designed by acclaimed architect Vladimir Shukhov.
SOHO ROOMS
Rivalling Imperia Lounge for the toughest door policy in Moscow, Soho Rooms attracts Russia’s social elite.
Models and celebrities are in abundance, as well as the capital’s movers and shakers. The club consists of four different rooms: the Dining Room, Disco Room, Bar Room and the Summer Terrace. The Disco Room is where all the action happens, and where you’ll find top DJ’s David Guetta and Alex Gaudino luring the likes of Naomi Campbell, Gerard Butler and Roman Abramovich onto the dance floor. Located on the banks of the River Moscow, Soho Rooms is one of Moscow’s premier clubs and is highly recommended.

CAFÉ PUSHKIN
For many of Russia’s social elite, Café Pushkin is the place to go.
Designed to recreate the feel of a 19th century aristocrat’s house, the restaurant has become one of the most popular in Moscow, thanks to the quality of its food, the impeccable service and excellent vodka selection. The atmosphere of pre-Revolution Russia is delightfully charming, from the flowery script of the menu to aristocratic country house décor. Pushkin is the ideal destination if you want to be treated like Russian nobility and dine like a Tsar – but book ahead, the restaurant’s popularity requires reservation well in advance.
