The summer session of AltaRomAltaModa 2013 is scheduled to take place on July 6-10, and will feature the “Who is on Next?” project for young talents organised in collaboration with Vogue Italia.
With a preview on July 5, the competition is only open to ‘Made in Italy’ productions and is recognized as one of the most important creative platforms worldwide. It is a once in a lifetime chance for designers to have their work and skills assessed by a prestigious jury of industry members.
This year Altaroma will present 12 emerging names: five designers for prêt-à-porter collections and five finalists for the accessories.
Furthermore, an entire section of the calendar will be devoted to Altaroma’s Ethical Fashion project, which it carries out in partnership with the International Trade Centre, the technical cooperation agency of the United Nations and the World Trade Organization.
Designers Stella Jean, Christie Brown, Kiki Clothing and Portenier Roth have been selected to present their collections during a special fashion show.
There will be quite a few surprises happening on stage during fashion week, as well as in catwalk shows, performances and installations – all of which are events that have contributed to confirming Rome as a pivotal force of scouting on an international level, highlighting the significant growth of a city that seemed to have fallen into a deep slumber.
AltaRomAltaModa 2013 is a perfect setting not only for the rebirth of young, fresh innovative creativity but also for the re-evaluation of artisan skills. Rome will once again be confirmed as a launch pad and an incubator for new talents. This promising and exciting session will unveil lots of surprises and is bound to be a great success.
