A total of six Mexican wines, produced in the states of Coahuila and Baja Norte, were awarded gold and silver medals in the 2016 edition of Vinalies Internationale. The wine competition, organized by the Union of Winemakers of France, was held from February 26 to March 1 in Paris.
René Rentería, founder and director of RR Wine Consulting & Training, confirmed that 3,441 wines were entered from around the world, of which only 30 percent received medals. Mexico participated with 19 entrants, of which six received top awards:
