Kimpton’s Hotel Palomar Premiers In Los Angeles, Blending Old-Hollywood Glamor And Stylish Sophistication

By Pardhasaradhi Gonuguntla

LOS ANGELES, Ca., – With its strategic location along the Wilshire Corridor, blocks from the famed Westwood Village, the Hotel Palomar debuts embodying the core values of the Kimpton brand—care, comfort, style, flavor, and fun, as well as the glamour of its Los Angeles locale. The Hotel Palomar, which opened on May 8, is modern and stylish in the design of its 264 guest rooms, including 24 suites—two presidential, and 22 spa suites. It also incorporates over 40 environmental initiatives, pet-friendly offerings, press junket capabilities, a complimentary nightly wine hour and organic morning coffee, and magnificent food and beverage offerings into its daily operations.

“We are excited to bring the sophistication of the Kimpton boutique brand to the Los Angeles travel market with the launch of the Hotel Palomar,” says General Manager John Douponce. “Our amenities, exemplary service, and unique approach to business, leisure, and entertainment groups will set us apart as one of the finest destinations on the Westside.”

Appointed with deluxe accommodations, amenities, and a stunning design, this boutique hotel tells the story of “Art in Motion,” focusing on Westwood’s role in the motion picture industry. Kimpton, an industry trendsetter for the past 27 years, makes no exception with the design of the Hotel Palomar. With its debut, the Hotel Palomar brings Kimpton’s award-winning environmentally responsible practices to Los Angeles. The Westwood property integrates eco-friendly initiatives into the hotel, including in-room recycling bins, energy-efficient lighting, water-efficient fixtures, and toiletries from earth-friendly manufacturer L’Occitane. In addition, the hotel offers organic food and beverage options in its mini-bars and the restaurant, BLVD 16, follows the Monterey Bay Seafood Watch’s sustainable seafood guidelines.

The Hotel Palomar also caters to its guests with world-class amenities ranging from a concierge-directed hybrid car service, a Mind.Body.Spa in-room spa program, and pet-friendly offerings. The hotel’s Mind.Boy.Spa service offers complimentary 24-hour in-room yoga and Pilates television programming, and for an additional charge, in-room spa treatments. The Hotel Palomar’s pet-friendly services ensure that four-legged guests are as comfortable as their human companions. They pamper pets with special amenity options from massage and acupuncture to day care, pet walking, personal pet attendants, and even employ “Jackson,” a 25-pound Basenji, as “director of pet relations.”

The 19-story Hotel Palomar has been glamorously designed by Beverly Hills interior designer Cheryl Rowley, and features accents that give the hotel an old-Hollywood flare. The living room-style lobby is the backdrop for the hotel’s nightly wine hour, and a grand marble fireplace serves as the focal point. The guestrooms and suites all feature crisp white Frette linens, topped with velvet damask shams with a zebra print. Striking ice-blue, velvet bolster pillows and faux snakeskin upholstered panels on the TV chest add an exotic touch. The rooms are equipped with a fainting couch and red decorative accents that evoke the hotel’s cinematic elegance, while the 42” LCD flat-screen televisions with HD broadcast, iHome sound systems, WiFi access, and honor bars with organic snack options are just a few of the contemporary travel amenities the Palomar provides its guests.

Hotel Palomar Los Angeles-Westwood also offers a distinct experience for business associates and leisure guests looking to hold corporate meetings or special events. It features 5,000 square feet of flexible meeting space adorned with the same bright accent colors and faux snakeskin finishes as the guestrooms. Walking distance from the movie premieres hosted in Westwood Village, the Hotel Palomar is fully wired for press junkets and embraces its “Art in Motion” theme with meeting rooms named after renowned film festivals—Los Angeles, Cannes, Sundance, and Outfest.

To complete the experience, guests staying at the Hotel Palomar can dine at BLVD 16, the restaurant adjacent to the hotel. The menu features regional American cuisine and provides exceptional dining for locals and guests alike. The restaurant focuses on locally grown ingredients, and serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner Monday-Saturday, and brunch and dinner on Sundays.

Hotel Palomar Los Angeles-Westwood is located at 10740 Wilshire Blvd. Introductory room rates start at $269 per night. For more information and to make reservations, please call 800.472.8556 or visit www.hotelpalomar-LAwestwood.com.
