Leading Hotels of the World Reveals New Members

An innovative new concept in hospitality, Mr. C Beverly Hills, represents a modern version of old-world simplicity and European glamour, providing today’s traveler with a comfortable and elegant experience that blends contemporary amenities with discreet, personalized service. The hotel’s 137 rooms and suites all have a private balcony, and many have panoramic views of Beverly Hills and Los Angeles. The interior design is rich and welcoming, complete with dark hardwood floors. Vintage black and white film photography brings historic cultural moments to life on the walls, and well-appointed bathrooms feature teak flooring, marble accents, and signature amenities. In addition to Mr. C restaurant, featuring classics from Cipriani, as well as grilled specialties and pizzas, guests can enjoy the Lobby Lounge and Pool Bar for drinks and socializing. The 24-hour gym is complemented by an outdoor pool surrounded by a 4,500-square-foot deck. There are more than 20,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor space for functions and meetings.

Due to open in London later this year, Café Royal Hotel is located on Regent Street, in the center of the city. Once famous as a West End meeting place for artists and intellectuals, Café Royal combines a sense of heritage with the 21st century. David Chipperfield Architects has restored the property’s listed interiors dating from the 1860s and 1920s, while adding a contemporary design to create a visually stunning hotel. Complementing the 159 stylish rooms and historic suites is an array of food and beverage venues, including The Grill, with live entertainment; Ten Room Lounge; the Screening Room, serving breakfast; 1920s Café; and The Bar. Guests will be able to relax and unwind in the Akasha Holistic Wellbeing Center, with a swimming pool, gym, spa, yoga and meditation studios. There are also five meeting and banquet rooms.

Situated in the hills of eastern Provence, Terre Blanche Hotel, Spa & Golf is just a half-hour drive from Cannes, yet also convenient to the towns of Grasse and Fayence. Set on 750 acres of gardens and pine forests, it is modeled on a Provençal village, with its 115 rooms and suites arranged in cottages connected by meandering pathways. Tempting dining options include Faventia, for contemporary Mediterranean cuisine with a Provençal influence; Tousco Grill, for a Mediterranean buffet in summer months; Infusion Café, for casual dining and healthy snacks; Les Caroubiers de Terre Blanche at the golf clubhouse, for light French and Provençal fare and specialty drinks; and Gaudina Lounge, for light meals, wine and cocktails. Golfers appreciate Terre Blanche as one of Europe’s best clubs, with two 18-hole courses and top-notch facilities. Set in a 35,000-square-foot villa, the spa offers traditional and contemporary treatments, as well as innovative technology, cosmetology and aromatherapy specific to Provence. There are also indoor and outdoor pools, tennis and a children’s club. Eight well-equipped meeting and banquet rooms can accommodate a variety of events.

Nestled on the slopes of Sierra Cortina, 150 meters above sea level, Barcelo Asia Gardens offers fantastic views over Spain’s Costa Blanca. Surrounded by lush gardens with over 60 varieties of plants, the hotel’s architectural design reflects the influences of Asia. Guest accommodations, in 312 serene rooms and suites, are decorated in a Balinese style, and appointed with furnishings crafted in the purest Indonesian tradition. Dining options include In Black restaurant for international gourmet selections, Koh Samui for fine Asian dishes, Udaipur Buffet for a creative fusion of Asian and Mediterranean fare, Palapa Mediterranean restaurant and bar, Bonsai lounge with a bar and terrace area, and a champagne bar. For relaxation, the Thai Spa offers traditional massage administered by therapists trained in Wat Pho. There are also water aerobics, yoga, swimming pools, biking and jogging trails, and Qi gong, as well as two nearby 18-hole golf courses.

The recently renovated Gran Melia Colon is located in the historic quarter of Seville, close to the city’s most important monuments and attractions, and convenient to the World Trade Center of La Cartuja. There are 189 rooms and suites with red and gold tones, award-winning contemporary furnishings, and bold finishes to create a sophisticated, Spanish atmosphere. Each floor of the hotel celebrates a different Spanish artist, from El Greco to Goya. Restaurant choices include El Burladero, serving traditional Andalusian tapas with a surprising, modern twist; The Majestic, offering an international buffet in a relaxed setting; and El Tendido for lighter fare, coffee and cocktails. Guests can relax in the fitness center offering a range of massage and aesthetic treatments as well as Life Fitness exercise equipment, sauna and steam bath, Turkish bath, therapeutic showers, and a solarium with exterior whirlpool and rain showers. For meetings and events, there are eight function rooms that can accommodate up to 240 persons.
