NEW YORK – Beginning on October 4 through October 12, 2008, Rosa Lladró, daughter of founding Lladró brother and President of the Board of Directors, will continue her family’s legacy by touring nine cities across the US. Rosa will be visiting Miami, Orlando, New York, Virginia, Texas, Las Vegas, Pleasanton and Los Angeles.
During the Fall Signing Event tour, Rosa Lladró will unveil for the first time worldwide the new Limited Edition sculpture, Iris and cherry flowers fan. Inspired by the Japanese woodblock prints known as ukiyo-e, this exquisite piece inaugurates a collection of limited edition fans that, for the first time in the Lladró history, can be displayed both as a traditional sculpture on a wooden base, or as a wall hanging piece of art, offering a broader visual field. Moreover, this decorative piece incorporates meticulous details that reveal an intricate process of craftsmanship. Thus, the elements that appear in the foreground are more intense in color, as may be observed from the enamels on the cherry tree-trunk, the birds and flowers. As the scene moves further in depth, pastel tones simulating the dawn are used.
Only 2,000 units of this original creation will be available in the entire world. The symbolic power of this unique piece reaches its maximum expression in this universe of evocative shadows and gestures. Iris and cherry flowers fan takes us to a poetic world where details acquire a life of their own.
Inspired by this new porcelain piece, Lladró has developed a beautiful fan as a gift with purchase throughout the tour.
