Luxury Swiss watch maker Girard-Perregaux announces its plans to open the brand’s seventh exclusive boutique in the world at the prestigious address 701 Madison Avenue in New York City. This new Madison Avenue address, located at the corner of 63rd Street, includes 1,200 square feet of space on the ground floor and 800 in a lower level and will be Girard-Perregaux’s first boutique in the United States. Girard-Perregaux will sell its full line of watches including the WW.TC, 1966 and Cat’s Eye collections.
Scheduled for fall 2009, this opening is part of the worldwide development of Girard-Perregaux’s concept stores and demonstrates the brand’s ongoing commitment to its North American collectors and clients.
Girard-Perregaux’s presence in the United States is one dating back to the 19th century when watch maker Constant Girard-Perregaux patented the world-renowned Tourbillon with Three Gold Bridges with the U.S. Patent Office in 1884. At the time there was no official intellectual property protection office in Switzerland. This movement would become an icon of the Girard-Perregaux brand and one of the most stunning examples of Swiss Haute Horlogerie.
Luigi Macaluso, President of Girard-Perregaux said: “New York is a city I know well and that I consider “my home away from home”. Opening a boutique on Madison Avenue is both a tribute to New York and an event I look forward to personally and emotionally”.
Girard-Perregaux is one of the few authentic Swiss Haute Horlogerie Manufactures that entirely designs, develops and constructs in house the watch and its heart: the movement.
