Hotel Chandler Reopens After $10 Million Renovation

By Pardhasaradhi Gonuguntla

New York, New York – Reported by Elite Traveler, the private jet lifestyle magazine

With a fresh $10 million multi-phase renovation nearly complete, Hotel Chandler, owned and operated by Triumph Hotels, revealed its new guestroom design, updated lobby and public spaces. Early next year, advanced meeting space, a private dining room and new restaurant, Juni, are set to round-out the new look of Flatiron’s boutique luxury hotel. To celebrate, Hotel Chandler is offering its “Chandler Refresh Package,” including late check-out, complimentary cocktails, breakfast and tickets to the nearby Empire State Building.

All 138 guestrooms are now appointed with a stately style and color scheme to create a sophisticated feeling throughout the property. The guestroom refresh was inspired by residential design, turning Hotel Chandler into a cozy reprieve with a calming neutral palette with pops of blue color in a variety of textures and materials. Superior, deluxe and suite level-accommodations feature classic bay windows, rich cherry wood armoires, tufted headboards, rainfall showerheads, and even four-poster beds in the luxurious Chandler Suites.

Led by interior designer Jane Capellini, the recent redesign encompasses the hotel’s stunning lobby, a chic cocktail and wine bar, refined library room and the Chandler Lounge. Inspired by the building’s original innate charm, Capellini maintained the historical integrity of the architecture and married it with contemporary comforts and distinctive furnishings to keep it in line with the existing subtle elegance of the property. Distinguished design details such as a unique built-in mosaic tile rug in the lobby, oversized arm chairs, 18th century clock hands, copper details, and the original exterior façade, meld together to create a hotel unlike any other in the city.

“Along with elevating the Hotel Chandler experience for guests with a property redesign, we’re pleased that the renovation coincides with and contributes to an exciting period of growth in our neighborhood,” says Kate Martin, General Manager. “Our guests have access to some of the newest and most recognizable sites, and are in a prime spot to create memories at the city’s landmarks, parks, and restaurants.”

For phase two of the renovation, a 50-seat fine-dining restaurant named Juni is slated to open in early 2013 by Executive Chef Shaun Hergatt in partnership with ESquared Hospitality, featuring the acclaimed chef’s haute cuisine. The menu will offer locally-sourced organic ingredients with a seasonally inspired menu. A private dining room will be available for parties up to 30 people.

Located in the heart of Manhattan where a number of notable neighborhoods – Flatiron District, NoMad, Gramercy Park, Murray Hill, and Midtown – converge, Hotel Chandler is at the epicenter of the city, a secret gem on a quiet block just steps away from everything New York City has to offer. The neighborhood is celebrated for its first class restaurants, diverse retailers and one of the city’s most popular parks, Madison Square Park. The boutique hotel is just blocks away from the iconic Empire State Building, Bryant Park, Broadway, and Fifth Avenue.

Luxury is service, and Hotel Chandler, offers personal service and amenities in its signature Triumph Hotels style. The staff is trained to have an intuitive sense, empathy for their guests and genuineness.
