Lladró, the world renowned creator of fine porcelain sculptures, celebrates the launch of the new Delta flight that, starting this month, will connect for the first time the city of the skyscrapers, New York, with Lladró’s homeland in Spain, Valencia, where the three founding Lladró brothers were born and where all Lladró figurines are created. On June 11th, the Lladró Boutique in New York will host an event organized by The Tourist Office of Spain in New York, The Valencia Region Tourist Boart and the Valencia Tourism & Convention Bureauto present the city and region of Valencia on the occasion of the new Delta nonstop flights between New York/JFK and Valencia.
Located on the center of the Spanish Mediterranean coastline, Valencia is the third largest city in Spain and one of the most beautiful and dynamic. It is a city with traditions that go back to the Middle Ages, like its fun “Fallas” festival that takes place every year in the spring. It is also a city of innovative gastronomy, design and architecture, such as Santiago Calatrava’s spectacular City of Arts and Sciences. Also, international events like the America’s Cup and the Formula 1 Grand Prix are putting Valencia more than ever on the international map.
Visitors to Valencia will also have the opportunity to tour The City of Porcelain, where all the porcelain sculptures are created. They will learn about the manufacturing process, from the detailed work of the painters, the ornamentation artists, the flower makers, etc. Another exciting aspect of visiting Lladró is the Museum, including Lladró porcelain sculptures and renowned paintings. The historic Porcelain Museum features unique, valuable works that extend back to the beginning of the company. The Painting Museum hosts one of Spain´s most important private collections, with more than 70 works that include canvases from artists such as El Greco and Sorolla.
