New York Palace’s GILT Names Wine Director

GILT at The New York Palace announced Patrick Cappiello as their new Wine Director. With an affinity for decanting and a strong ability to navigate GILT’s generous wine list, Cappiello, 36, brings a vast knowledge and expertise to one of New York City’s most respected restaurants.

Cappiello’s approach will bring a more intense focus on French varieties to GILT’s wine list and has plans to strategically revamp to the restaurant’s popular wines by the glass program. “Having known Cappiello for several years, I’m well aware of his influence on this industry here in New York City,” said Jeffrey Selden, Executive Director of Food & Beverage at The New York Palace Hotel. “Cappiello comes from one of the most impressive backgrounds we could ever hope for in a Wine Director at GILT – we are thrilled to have him a part of our team.”

The Dining Room at GILT is open for dinner Tuesday through Saturday, with seating starting at 5:30 pm. A three-course prix-fixe pre-theatre dinner for $55 is offered until 6:00 pm. A three-course prix-fixe20 dinner is offered for $85, and a five-course tasting menu is available for $110 from 6:00 pm-10:00 pm Tuesday through Thursday and 6:00 pm-10:30 pm Friday through Saturday. Gilt Bar is open seven nights a week starting at 5:00 p.m.
