It was during the prestigious Hospitality Heroes event when our esteemed Doorman, Jorge Trejo, was rightfully bestowed with the ‘Beyond the Call of Duty’ award. Witnessing Jorge’s unwavering commitment to his craft, even after more than three decades of devoted service, was nothing short of awe-inspiring. His pride in ensuring every guest’s experience transcends mere satisfaction is a testament to the ethos that defines us — a commitment to elevating every moment and creating memories that linger long after departure.
And what has been the hotel’s biggest challenge during your time there?
One of the most significant challenges we’ve encountered during my tenure has been the intricate planning, preparation, and seamless execution of service during the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) event. As the city experienced increased traffic congestion, street closures, and heightened security measures, our commitment to excellence became even more pronounced.
We worked diligently to ensure that every guest, employee, and supplier navigated through the added complexities with ease and assurance. Our unwavering dedication to hospitality extended beyond our premises as we provided a steadfast presence of support and assistance amidst the adjustments necessitated by the event. It was a testament to our collective resilience and the unwavering commitment of our team to maintain the unparalleled standards of the Palace Hotel service, even amidst the challenges posed by external circumstances.
