On Wednesday, May 27th, A Night for Life took place aboard the USS Intrepid.
It was a celebratory and honorific evening of entertainment and fundraising with all proceeds benefiting Stop Soldier Suicide, a non-profit charity whose mission is to prevent the 22+ veteran and active duty suicides happening each day in our country.
Performances for the night included live shows by patriotic sensations The American Bombshells and Mieka Pauley who performed a beautiful rendition of the national anthem. The sold out event hosted over 1,200 guests and welcomed members of the U.S. military.
The key speaker of the night, introduced by Amanda Drury of CNBC, was Jersey City Mayor Steve Fulop, himself a Marine veteran. Brian Kinsella, the co-founder and CEO of Stop Soldier Suicide and also an Army veteran and current energy sector specialist in Goldman Sachs’ equity research department also spoke on creating awareness for the cause at the event.
