Air Tahiti Nui And Robert Wan Partner To Celebrate The Airline’s 10-Year Anniversary With Free Tahitian Black Pearl Gifts For All Tahiti Bound Passeng

By Pardhasaradhi Gonuguntla

NEW YORK, NY – In celebration of Air Tahiti Nui’s 10th anniversary, the airline announced today a first-ever partnership with Robert Wan, the king of Tahitian black pearls, who will gift a gem to each passenger flying to French Polynesia now through January 15, 2009.

Air Tahiti Nui’s first and business class passengers will receive the special commemorative present onboard. Economy passengers will receive vouchers to pick up their black pearl gifts at any of seven Robert WAN Tahiti stores in Tahiti, Moorea and Bora Bora.

French Polynesia is world-renowned for its fine black cultured pearls and Robert Wan is the largest producer of the colorful gems. “What better way to celebrate our 10th anniversary than by thanking our passengers with beautiful Tahitian black pearls?” said Nick Panza, vice president Americas, Air Tahiti Nui. “We are grateful to Robert WAN Tahiti for partnering with us on this special occasion, generously handing out these unique reminders of our gorgeous islands.”

Tropical French Polynesia boasts stunning landscapes, a laidback culture and no crowds. Vacationers have their choice of activities and can opt to while away days on soft adventure outings exploring Tahiti’s famous lava tubes or hitting the mountainous trails 4×4 style in search of sacred Polynesian sites, or just kicking back in a private over water bungalow watching fish swim by in the crystal clear lagoon.

Connecting four continents with a fleet of five Airbus A340-300 wide-body aircraft, Air Tahiti Nui flies from its Pacific hub of Tahiti’s Faa’a International Airport to Los Angeles, New York, Paris, Sydney, Auckland, Tokyo and Osaka. The airline’s winter 2008 schedule (effective October 24, 2008) features daily nonstop service to Tahiti from Los Angeles in less than eight hours with connections via Papeete to Sydney and Auckland. The French Polynesian carrier also flies nonstop from Los Angeles to Paris, and its nonstop New York – Tahiti service will be reinstated next May for the peak 2009 season.

Air Tahiti Nui was named the “Best Airline – Pacific Region” and recognized as having the “Best Cabin Staff – Pacific Region” in the 2008 Skytrax World Airline Survey® for the sixth consecutive year.
