MIAMI HOTSPOTS

For the best place to head to after night falls, we checked in with Allison Luvera, director of luxury marketing at Pernod Ricard USA, who is an Art Basel veteran and always knows just where to go.

SAXONY BAR

screen-shot-2016-11-28-at-12-04-58Think there is nothing new in Faena? Think again. The Saxony Bar makes its Art Basel debut this year. Located next to the district’s theater, this exclusive, reservations-only bar is reminiscent of a scene out of your favorite Baz Luhrmann movie (he designed the space with his wife, Catherine Martin).

Expect a tight door, high-quality bespoke cocktails and lots of celebrities.

MATADOR BAR

screen-shot-2016-11-28-at-12-22-22Since The Miami Beach Edition arrived on the scene two years ago, the hotel has been ground zero for the fashionable travellers that descend on the beach during Art Basel week. The Matador Bar, designed by hotelier Ian Schrager, gives revelers an escape from the melee as they sip classic cocktails in a plush setting with pool and ocean views. Champagne and sweet pea guacamole on the terrace are a must.

BABY JANE

screen-shot-2016-11-28-at-12-37-47This mixology-forward bar and gastropub in Brickell is known for its innovative craft cocktail menu, chic clientele and old-school Americana vibes. Created by the team behind Ariete, Baby Jane opened in May this year and quickly became a place to see and be seen by the local trendsetters. Expect to see Brickell become increasingly popular this year as it cements its status as the new “it neighborhood” in Miami.

Art on the beach

screen-shot-2016-11-28-at-12-45-23We know you’re heading to Art Basel Miami Beach for the art, right? But that doesn’t mean that you can’t take advantage of the best the area has to offer, especially the energy and parties around the fair.
