New York, NY – Elite Traveler has learned Raffles Hotels and Resorts will end its management of Raffles Canouan in the Grenadines on May 6 and after a transition period the resort will be owner managed and be represented by The Leading Hotels of the World. The hotel is not currently taking reservations, but is expected to begin taking reservations again in the first part of May.
During the property’s approximately five years of association with Raffles it won numerous awards, including several inclusions on Elite Traveler’s 101 Top Suites list.
As recently as last year the resort had expanded its airstrip to increase its accessibility for private jets. Representatives for the owner, Italian businessman Antonio Saladino, and Raffles declined to comment.
In addition to the resort, the complex includes a championship golf course, casino plus extensive real estate development with villas available for hotel guests and a spa also operated by Raffles. Prior to Raffles management of the resort, it had been managed for a short period by Rosewood. The resort because of its unique location has also been popular for full takeovers for meetings, weddings and celebrations.
