St. Moritz , Switzerland – Reported by Elite Traveler, the Private Jet Lifestyle Magazine
After four days of competition against the Julius Baer, Brioni and Maserati teams, Cartier has won the 26th edition of this international tournament, which it has faithfully partnered for the last 26 years.
This polo tournament, the most important of the winter season, perfectly reflects the elegance, passion and tradition of Cartier. It attracted thousands of enthusiasts, who enjoyed the competition amid glorious sunshine. The guest of honor, Estelle Lefebure, a great horse-lover and long-standing friend of Cartier, made her first visit to St. Moritz to attend this exceptional event.
The final opposed the tournament’s two favorites, Julius Baer and Cartier, with Cartier winning by a score of 4 to 3.
Arnaud Carrez, the new Director General of Cartier Suisse, took great pleasure in presenting the “Maillet d’Or” trophy to the winning team for the very first time. The team was composed of Glen Gilmore, John Paul Clarkin, Rob Archibald and the captain, Saeed Bin Drai, whose respective handicaps are 7, 8, 6 and 1. Some of them will take part in the next tournament, the Cartier Desert Palm Challenge on March 26th in Dubai.
Among all the polo tournaments around the world, the St. Moritz remains both incomparable and unforgettable. The date has already been set for next year.
