London, UK – Reported by Elite Traveler, the private jet lifestyle magazine
London menus don’t come much more British than at the new Reform Social and Grill. Set in The Mandeville Hotel, the restaurant is well placed for shopping sprees on Marylebone High Street, Bond Street and Regent Street, or for a fix of art history, the impressive Wallace Collection is just around the corner.
The interiors at Reform Social and Grill owe something to the traditional English gentlemen’s club, with some more contemporary and comic touches thrown in to keep you guessing. The all-day dining menu offers breakfast, weekend brunch, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner.
To start, try the Dutch Scotch egg with black pudding, roast apple sauce and oats (pictured)—a classic picnic favorite in the UK. If you want another blast from Britain’s past, go for the calves liver and bacon for your main course—it’s as English as Roast Beef, but rarely seen on menus these days sadly.
Finish your meal with a good British pudding like the bakewell tart with raspberry preserve and custard. True to the tradition of British private schools, the kitchen will gladly ladle out extra custard—a good defense against cold autumn days.
