Geneva, Switzerland – Reported by Elite Traveler, the private jet lifestyle magazine
To celebrate the prestigious Aiguille d’Or (Golden Hand) award won by De Bethune’s DB28 at last year’s Geneva Watchmaking Grand Prix, the innovative watchmaker has launched a special limited edition: DB28 “Aiguille d’Or.”
Revisiting the iconic, award-winning DB28 model, the “Aiguille d’Or” limited edition features subtle details sure to delight watch aficionados. The characteristic aesthetic of the DB28 has been enriched with a rose gold baguette-shaped insert adorning the minute hand. The distinctive shape of the mirror-polished titanium case, inspired by pocket watches and accentuated by the spherical moon phase and by the silicon/palladium balance, features an exhibition back revealing a finely decorated movement enhanced by gold wheels and a gold hand for the linear power reserve.
The exceptional timepiece features a pure style in which taut lines, exquisite handcrafted finishes and the slenderness of the case combine with the technical prowess that De Bethune is famed for to create a truly contemporary expression of the horological art.
The watch’s mechanical, hand-wound movement is the Calibre DB 2115, and its moon phase complication is strikingly three-dimensional. The six-day power reserve is indicated on the case back, and the sapphire crystal has double glare proofing. Only 50 pieces of this stunning new masterpiece are available.
