London, UK – Reported by Elite Traveler, the Private Jet Lifestyle Magazine
For the second year in a row, John Galliano has designed Claridge’s dazzling Christmas tree on behalf of the house of Dior.
The storied Art Deco hotel is abuzz with activity during the holiday season, and Galliano’s stunning design promises to draw both visitors and Londoners to its lobby. For 2010, Galliano was inspired by the ocean: His whimsical “Under the Sea”-themed tree features shimmering silver leaves, pink coral and all manner of aquatic creatures, from anemones to jellyfish.
Of the collaboration, the Dior Creative Director said, “The majestic beauty of Claridge’s Art Deco interiors never fails to inspire me. I am thrilled to be invited to create a new tree for Christmas at Claridge’s. I wanted to create an underwater fantasy… I hope we create something as sumptuous as its setting and this inspires a truly luxurious escape and a very festive season at Claridge’s.”
The tree will be on display until January 5th, 2011. Visit www.claridges.co.uk.
