The First Professional Group Joint Meeting was organized at Kempinski Hotel recently by the Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM).
It was chaired by the DTCM Director General, Mr. Khalid A bin Sulayem, and attended by other DTCM officials.
Representatives of various government departments like Roads & Transport Authority (RTA), Ministry of labour & Dubai airports, Centre of Ambulance Service, Dubai Police, members of Hotel & Hotel Apartment Group and Travel & Tourism Group attended the meeting.
Mr. bin Sulayem thanked the government representatives for attending the meeting and Mr. Michael Hensler of Kempinski Mall of the Emirates for hosting the meeting.
Lt. Colonel Ahmed Mohammed Rafi of Dubai Police announced the theme “Knowledge and Human Resources” selected for the 37th International Federation of Training and Development (IFTDO) World Conference & Exhibition scheduled from March 3 to 6 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre (DICEC).
The conference, to be held in collaboration with DTCM, will focus on the latest developments, trends, scientific research and technological advancements in the field of Human Resource Development practices and their impact on the dissemination, acquisition and application of knowledge.
The conference is being held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
The meeting discussed issues related to the Centre of Ambulance Services (CAS). Lt. Colonel Ahmed informed the participants that there will be coordination between the CAS and DTCM to notify Hotel establishments about the First Aid training schedule.
The gathering was informed that the New Ambulance location has been based in Le Meridian Hotel for the entire beach hotels and Dubai Marine. It was also revealed that the findings of the Dubai Visitors Survey would be made available within a week.
Mr. Eyad Ali Abdul Rahman, Executive Director Media Relations and Acting Director Business Development updated the participants of the meeting on the achievements of the DTCM with the cooperation of other government departments. He also discussed various issues like setting up of Lost & Found Service in the hotels.
The representatives of RTA answered the questions raised by the participants on different issues pertaining to the department and its effective functioning during the conference.
