Enchantment Resort Debuts Serene Family Programs

By Pardhasaradhi Gonuguntla

Each year, more than 50% of all visitors to Sedona are traveling on a family vacation in Arizona’s red rock country, seeking outdoor adventure, fun-filled excursions, picturesque weather and breathtaking scenery. From jeep tours and hiking, to the famous Slide Rock State Park, this northern Arizona town consistently attracts families from around the world.

Enchantment Resort is known as the ideal retreat for families looking for the ultimate Sedona experience. The resort’s family package offers three or more nights in a Casita Guest Room or One-Bedroom Suite, and includes the following benefits:
• Full breakfast for four each morning
• One 60-minute Mii amo spa service per adult (16 & older), per day
• Daily Camp Coyote for children ages 4-12
• Daily access to Mii amo spa for adults; use of tennis courts and mountain bikes for the entire family

In addition to these benefits, families enjoy taking part in the abundance of activities that Enchantment Resort offers, including swimming, hiking, mountain biking, playing croquet, pitch & putt golf and tennis. Packages start from $2,568 and rates are based on a family of four.

Camp Coyote is Enchantment Resort’s program designed to educate and entertain children ages 4 -12. More than 1,000 children participated in the acclaimed program last year. Trained counselors guide camp-goers in exciting activities that explore the region’s culture and natural environment. Each day has a different theme with corresponding events, including:
• Tipi Monday
• Earth Friendly Tuesday
• Canyon Creations Wednesday
• Athletic Thursday
• Tribal Fridays
• Solar System Saturday
• Cooperative Sunday

Highlights include nature walks, sculpting pottery, star gazing, obstacle courses and painting. Native American influenced arts and crafts include sand painting, bead work, weaving dream catchers and designing arrowhead necklaces. There’s also scavenger hunts, outdoor games and Southwestern-inspired cooking classes. Nature adventures teach children about Boynton Canyon’s plants, insects, mule and white-tailed deer, jackrabbits, and other inhabitants. In the summer, kids can cool off with dive-in movies in the pool, swimming and pool games.
