Nice, France – Reported by Elite Traveler, the private jet lifestyle magazine
Façonnable is pleased to announce the arrival of Julian Neale as Artistic Director of the Lifestyle Brand based on the Cote d’Azur. In his new position, he will oversee the development of all Menswear and Womenswear collections.
Neale joins Façonnable from Rena Lange where, as Creative Director, he helped reposition the German brand by taking it to the runway and refreshing it with an of-the-moment spirit. “Fashion is ever-changing but style lasts,” Neale says. “With Façonnable there is a storied heritage of quality and a chic French attitude. I am here to build on that foundation by injecting a contemporary edge that will only serve to highlight and modernize Façonnable’s singular aesthetic—not compete with it.”
Born in Turkey and raised in Hong Kong, Neale, who will relocate to Façonnable’s headquarters in Nice, South of France, has worked on both men’s and women’s wear throughout his vast career.
He successfully launched a menswear license with Isetan for the French brand Victoire, built his own lifestyle collection, Permanent Vacation, and worked on women’s wear as a designer at Céline during the Michael Kors era.
Known for his impeccable taste and ability to weave a cohesive narrative through his collections, Neale’s distinct eye for colors, textures, contemporary silhouettes and superior construction gels perfectly with Façonnable design ethos.
“Julian brings not only a fresh point of view, but invaluable design studio experience” says Maher Mikati, CEO of M1 Fashion. “He’s an innovative designer who is also a pragmatist and that means he implicitly understands how to balance trend-driven design with timeless elegance. He will help a new generation discover the brand by guiding Façonnable into the next decade without ever losing sight of its invaluable heritage.”
Neale’s first collections will bow for Pre-Fall 2012 and Fall Winter 2012, when Façonnable presents its line-up at Pitti Immagine Uomo in Florence in January.
