First Waldorf Astoria Collection Ski Property Bows

By Pardhasaradhi Gonuguntla

Dakota Mountain Lodge & Golden Door Spa, the first ski property in the Waldorf Astoria Collection, offers a variety of condominium hotel residences loaded with world class amenities at the base of The Canyons® Resort, one of the top-rated mountains for skiing and snowboarding in the United States. Fewer than 40 residences remain for sale at the hotel condominium, which is expected to open in summer 2009.

The Dakota Mountain Lodge guestrooms range in size from guestrooms, to suites with gourmet kitchens, to the six-bedroom “mansion in the sky” penthouses and will be outfitted with the finest furnishings including custom Viking appliances, European Steam Showers and jetted tubs. Residence prices range from approximately $435,000 to $2.5 million. A second phase of the property will include an additional 137 guestrooms in 65 condo residences.

“Our hotel residences at Dakota Mountain Lodge & Golden Door Spa offer a unique opportunity for discerning buyers,” said Lee M. Hindin, founder of Park City-based DuVal Development Partners I, LLC. “First, there’s the high standard of quality and service established by the Waldorf Astoria brand. Secondly, our design, finishes, world class amenities along with our ski-in, ski-out location genuinely makes Dakota Mountain Lodge a one-of-kind experience in alpine living.”

The design of the Dakota Mountain Lodge & Golden Door Spa offers a more contemporary mountain elegant look with dark finished woods, tile and stonework, and custom carpeting. Exterior finishes are of rustic stone and rough-sawn timber, inside embraces residents with a master baths with elegant Kohler fixtures, a Euro glass shower enclosure, some of the finest granite and tumbled marble, and steam showers. Each gourmet kitchen is complete with authentic Viking Appliances, elegant granite counter tops and custom designer cabinetry.

For après ski, or as a destination in itself, guests will be able to indulge in the Dakota Mountain Lodge’s 16,000-square-foot world-renowned Golden Door Spa consisting of 15 treatment rooms, a custom designed fitness center and a cutting edge nail and hair spa – all in a unique and spectacular environment.
