Miami, Florida – Reported by Elite Traveler, the Private Jet Lifestyle Magazine
Recently, Fontainebleau Miami Beach officially opened the doors to Arkadia, the new ultra-lounge and pool concept designed to be a captivating, seductive playground for adults. Developed by MMG Nightlife, the force behind the award-winning LIV nightclub, Arkadia invites guests to check their inhibitions at the door. Intimate, sexy alcoves create a stylish environment where guests should expect the unexpected. Evenings at Arkadia will feature DJs from around the world, top-notch entertainment and fashion installations from the who’s who in the fashion world. At Arkadia the element of surprise is always on the menu.
Conceived and created by eminent designer Francois Frossard, whose portfolio includes several iconic Miami hotspots, Arkadia brings Miami Beach the ultimate indoor and outdoor party scene for more than 300 guests with 25 tables and two full-service bars. Frossard approached this project as if the space was a mirrored jewelry box, giving the room a more comfortable feel with a glamorous edge. As such, the ceiling, bars and DJ booth are covered in laser-cut gold mirrors, which create an alluring atmosphere and plays off the reflections of the unique lighting and architecture.
All furniture design is custom-created by Francois Frossard Designs. The overstuffed sofas are tufted on the inside giving them a more Chesterfield-style elegant look opposed to the standard black booths found in most nightclubs. The tables are also custom-designed in an oversized format to provide ample space for cocktail waitresses to offer guests preeminent service without any unnecessary interruption. The lounge’s lighting was designed to set the stage through a series of vignettes and mini strobes that accent and recreate the exceptional energy of Miami Beach.
Arkadia’s DJ booth is a significant eye-catching element completely covered in mirrors and visible from all angles in the room. House music will primarily dominate the ultra-modern lounge with an eclectic combination of renowned artists in the programming, including Saturday-night resident DJ Ross One.
The lounge’s name was inspired by the arcade that once occupied the space in the 70’s and 80’s. Reminiscent of Fontainebleau’s “Golden Era,” the walls leading to the men’s and women’s bathrooms feature copies of old magazine articles, photos and memorabilia.
Doors officially open to the public on October 28, 2010. Living up to the reputation of Fontainebleau Miami Beach and its internationally known nightclub, LIV, Arkadia is already becoming the new hotspot for celebrities and Miami A-listers alike. On Saturday, October 23, rap sensation Drake was the first to take over the space for his intimate birthday celebration. On Sunday, October 24, Arkadia held a private, star-studded preview party with guests such as LeBron James, Alex Rodriguez, Edward Norton and Elle MacPherson in attendance.
