Golf Gives Back:
Each year, the Resort hosts their annual two-day fundraiser “Run For Hope,”
which includes a culinary event under the stars, 10K/5K Run and 5K Walk, a
golf scramble, and tennis tournaments. Proceeds from the event benefit
cancer research in Hawai‘i. To date, the event has raised more than
$902,000. For more information on our 12th Annual event, visit
Since the Hawai`i inception of the Champions Tour event at Hualalai (1997),
the tournament has made a rewarding charitable impact on the local
community. Nearly $500,000 has been donated to various organizations
including the Rotary Club of Kona, Kealakehe High School, and Big Island
Junior Golf programs. Donations from the tournament have helped support
turf renovation of the Kona soccer fields, and most recently, acquired
state-of-the-art equipment for the Kona Community Hospital in an effort to
diagnose and detect kidney stones. The 2009 Champions Tour event dates are
Thursday, January 22 – Saturday 24, and is slated to be televised worldwide
on The Golf Channel.
