Award-winning hotel group Swissôtel have announced plans for a new luxury hotel in the heart of the burgeoning business district of Kazan, Russia.
With 1.2 million inhabitants and situated 800 km east of Moscow, the city of Kazan is an important destination for business and major sports events in Russia and was recently classed as one of the top Russian cities for business climate and attractiveness by Forbes magazine.
Following the success of the Swissôtel Krasnye Holmy in Moscow, the new Swissôtel Riviera Tower Kazan will mark the next step in the Swiss group’s growth in the Eastern European market.
“Our hotel group has had a presence in Moscow for years and we have established an excellent reputation here,” said Meinhard Huck, President of Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts. “The new hotel in Kazan will join the two deluxe hotels we plan to open in Sochi in 2013 and our existing hotel in Moscow, and represents a perfect addition to what we feel is a key Eastern European market.”
Scheduled to open in 2016, the ultramodern Swissôtel Riviera Tower Kazan will dominate the Kazan skyline and tower over the banks of Kazanka river. Combining cutting-edge design with personalised service, the Tower Kazan aims to provide luxury for business travelers as well as attracting more tourists to the area.
General Manager of Riviera Tower LLC Ivan Voitko said, “The infrastructure of Kazan is improving every day and the new complex with the state-of-the-art five-star hotel under the Swissôtel brand will become another significant element in the city’s strategy of advancement and development, and will contribute to a greater disclosure of touristic potential of the region.”
A 16,000-square-foot spa and sport complex will be one of the features of the new hotel, which boasts 211 guest rooms and suites. The design also includes a number of conference rooms, restaurants and a ballroom.
